Deleting your organization
This article explains how an Org Administrator deletes an entire Dailybot organization – every member, the connected chat workspace, and all historical data tied to that org. This is different from closing an individual account, which only removes one person.
Before you begin
- Org Administrator only. Only an Org Administrator can delete the organization.
- It is irreversible. Once the deletion runs, the organization and its data cannot be restored from the UI.
- Export anything you need first. From the same menu you’ll use to delete, choose Export data to download what your team or compliance requires before you start.
- Billing: Deleting the org ends its activity. Settle any open invoices or subscription questions with your finance owner beforehand.
Steps
- Sign in as an Org Administrator, click Settings in the sidebar, then select Organization settings.
- Confirm you are in the correct organization – the org name appears at the top of the page.
- Click the more menu (the ••• in the top-right of the Organization settings panel). It contains Copy Org ID, Export data, and Delete organization.
- (Recommended) Choose Export data first to back up anything you need.
- Click Delete organization.
- In the confirmation modal, tell us why you’re leaving and complete the prompts, then continue to confirm the deletion.
What happens after you confirm
Your request is sent to Dailybot and placed in an automated queue. The organization and its data are then deleted in about 7 days. The process runs automatically during that window – you don’t need to do anything else.
After deletion, every member loses access to that org’s check-ins, kudos, Home feed history, automations, and configuration, and connected chat integrations stop working. Some records may be retained for a limited period for security, billing, or legal obligations, then purged or anonymized per Dailybot’s privacy and retention policies – see Data retention policies and Requesting data deletion. Do not treat deletion as a substitute for a formal data subject request if you need a documented GDPR process.
Only want to remove yourself? Don’t delete the organization. Ask an admin to deactivate you, or see Closing or deactivating a Dailybot account.
