Re-install Dailybot in your Discord server

Re-install Dailybot in your Discord server

Use this article when Dailybot was kicked from your Discord server – by mistake or while cleaning up roles – and you need to add the bot back so check-ins, kudos, and automations resume. This is different from a full disconnect/reconnect: you only need to re-add the bot inside Discord, not OAuth-disconnect on the Dailybot side.

Before you begin

  • You need Manage Server (or equivalent admin rights) on the Discord server where Dailybot will be re-added.
  • Use the browser where you are signed in to the Discord account that admins the target server.
  • If your org has multiple servers connected to Dailybot, identify which one is missing the bot before starting.

Steps

  1. Log out of the Dailybot web app at app.dailybot.com/settings/organization. This avoids context mismatches during the OAuth flow.
  2. Open Discord and click your server’s name at the top-left.
  3. Select App Directory from the server menu.
  4. Search for dailybot, open its profile, and click Add to server.
  5. A new browser tab opens with Discord’s authorization screen. Select the server where Dailybot should be re-added and click Continue.
  6. Review the requested permissions and click the blue Authorize button.
  7. Complete the captcha if Discord shows one.
  8. After authorization, you are signed back into the Dailybot web app.
  9. Return to Discord and confirm Dailybot now appears in the server member list.

What to expect after

Dailybot is reattached to the server with the permissions you approved. Check-ins, kudos, and automations resume from where they were; historical data in the Dailybot dashboard is not affected by the removal. If channel posts still fail, confirm the bot is invited to those specific channels and has the required permissions there.

If none of this worked

Gather the following before contacting support:

  • Discord server ID (enable Developer Mode in Discord settings, right-click the server name, choose Copy Server ID)
  • Channel ID where reports should land
  • Approximate time the bot was removed and time you re-added it
  • Any error text shown during the Authorize step
  • Whether the bot can post in at least one channel after re-install
