Discord: Dailybot can’t DM users (privacy settings)

There are currently some privacy options in Discord that may affect bots in your server, including one that restricts direct messages within the same server. In this case, Dailybot will not be able to send you direct messages, regardless of whether you are both on the same server, and you will see a message like this every time you contact the bot:

Unless you change this setting, Dailybot will not be able to perform basic tasks for your team, such as sending check-in notifications and more. Learn how to allow direct messages in two steps:

Click your server name at the top left side of your screen, and open the contextual menu in Privacy settings

Turn on the option “Allow direct messages from server members”

Direct Message “enable” to the Dailybot Discord bot.

And that’s it! You have successfully enabled direct messages for Dailybot. 🎉
