Renaming Dailybot in your Slack workspace
You can change the display name Dailybot uses in your Slack workspace – for example, to match a brand or internal team name. The change is made from Slack’s app configuration, not from Dailybot itself.
Before you begin
- You need the Workspace Owner role in Slack, or be the person who originally installed Dailybot in this workspace. Without one of those, Slack will not let you edit the bot’s name.
- If you are a member of several Slack workspaces, make sure
my.slack.comredirects to the correct workspace before opening Dailybot’s app page.
Steps
- Open Dailybot’s app page in the Slack App Directory: Apps > search Dailybot > select the app.
- Open the Configuration tab for the Dailybot app.
- Under Bot User, click Edit.
- Enter the new name you want for the bot in your workspace.
- Click Save changes.
What to expect after
The new name appears in DMs, channel mentions, and check-in reports posted by the bot. Existing automations and check-ins continue working unchanged – only the display label changes. If users still see the previous name after a few minutes, ask them to reload their Slack client.
