I deactivated a check-in and can’t find it – how do I reactivate it?

When you pause or deactivate a check-in in Dailybot, it disappears from the default check-ins list (which only shows active ones). The check-in is not deleted; it is just filtered out. You can bring it back with two clicks.

Quick fix

  1. Open Dailybot web at https://app.dailybot.com/.
  2. Go to Check-ins in the left navigation.
  3. At the top of the list, switch the filter from Active to All (or Inactive / Paused, depending on your view).
  4. Click the check-in you deactivated.
  5. Open its settings and toggle Active / Resume on.
  6. Save. The next scheduled run will use it again.

Where deactivated check-ins go

A deactivated check-in keeps:

  • All its questions.
  • Its participant list.
  • Its schedule and report destination.
  • Every past report (visible in the history view).

It just stops asking participants and stops compiling new reports. That is why you “can’t find it”: the default list hides anything that is not running.

If you also do not see the past reports, switch the filter to All before deciding the check-in is gone.

On chat platforms (Slack, Teams, Discord, Google Chat)

Slash commands like /dailybot checkins only list active check-ins by default. To reactivate a paused one, use the web app (steps above). After you reactivate it, the chat list will show it again at the next refresh.

Deactivate vs delete

Action What it does How to undo
Pause / Deactivate Stops new reports, keeps history and settings. Toggle active back on (this article).
Delete Permanently removes the check-in and (depending on plan) its history. Cannot be undone by the user; ask support if recent.

If you used Delete instead of Deactivate and you need the check-in back, contact support quickly with the check-in name and approximate deletion time. Recovery is not guaranteed.

Common pitfalls

The check-in is in a different team

If your org has multiple teams, the check-in may live under a team you are not viewing. Switch the team selector at the top of the Check-ins page.

You are not the owner

Only Org Admins, Team Managers, or the check-in owner can reactivate a check-in. If the toggle is greyed out, ask someone with that role.

You see no list at all

If the entire check-ins list is empty even with All selected, you may be in the wrong organization. Open the org switcher (top left) and pick the right one.

If you still can’t find it

Before contacting support, gather:

  • The exact check-in name (or a close guess).
  • The team it belonged to.
  • Whether you used Deactivate or Delete.
  • Approximate date and time of the change.
  • Your org name and email.

Then contact Dailybot support from the Help or Contact options in the product or on the website.
