Here’s a polished product update article for the DailyBot blog, written fully in your (Albert’s) voice and incorporating the Summary Report feature using the contents from the uploaded guide. I’ve cited the file where appropriate.

A clearer way to understand your team’s work: Summary Reports are now live

Async teams depend on clarity. Everyone wants to know what’s moving, what’s stuck, and where attention is needed next. Standups help, but they’re scattered by nature: different teams, different check-ins, different rhythms.

Today we’re releasing a cleaner, faster way to bring that story together.
Summary Reports are now available in DailyBot’s Check-ins hub, giving managers and department leads a single, structured view of the latest responses across their teams.

This update turns your daily routines into an actual pulse you can trust.

Why we built this

Most teams run multiple check-ins at once: engineering has its standup, sales has its pipeline review, analytics has its weekly recap. It works, but when you’re leading a team or a whole department, the overhead of jumping between all those reports adds up.

Summary Reports reduce that friction. You tell DailyBot who and what you want to see, and we hand back a clean, consolidated snapshot. It should feel like asking a teammate: “What’s the status on my team today?” and getting a straight answer.

How it works

The new flow lives inside Check-ins on the web app. Once you’re there, you’ll see a new “Generate summary” entry point at the top of the page. When you click it, a modal opens where you pick three things:

  • Who: either full teams or specific members
  • What: one or multiple check-ins
  • When: the reporting period you care about

According to the guide in the uploaded file, the modal walks you through these filters and then displays the summary on the right side once you generate it . It’s fast, structured, and built for managers who want a quick read before stepping into their day.

Once generated, the report highlights the responses that match both your selected team and the chosen check-ins. If your team spans multiple departments, DailyBot automatically narrows the report only to the relevant participants, as detailed in the examples on pages 3 and 4 of the document .

Designed for managers, department leads, and cross-functional teams

Teams rarely live in strict departmental boxes anymore. People float between initiatives, projects, and hybrid roles. Summary Reports support that reality.

If you’re a manager, you can filter by your team (for example “Anthony Allmon”) and instantly see today’s or the week’s responses from only your direct reports, across whichever check-ins you choose.

Department heads can take it one level up. As shown in the guide’s final section, a head of Sales can filter by the “Sales Managers” team and combine multiple check-ins — like daily standups and weekly updates — into one consolidated snapshot .

The goal is simple: one report, tailored to your scope of responsibility, no digging.

A quick example

Let’s say you lead Engineering. You want a summary of everything your team shared in today’s standup.

You’d:

  1. Open Check-ins
  2. Click Generate summary
  3. Select the Engineering team
  4. Choose “Daily Standup (Engineering)”
  5. Set the period to Today
  6. Generate your report

Now you have a clean overview of what moved, who’s blocked, and where energy is going. No hopping across individual check-ins.

What’s next

This release is the first step toward more intelligent reporting inside DailyBot. In the coming months, summaries will evolve into richer insights that help you spot trends, understand team health, and keep an eye on follow-ups without adding new meetings.

For now, Summary Reports give every manager a dependable read on the day — a steady rhythm you can use to support your team and stay ahead of the work.
