Linear integration guide

Connect Linear to Dailybot to track issue activity in your check-in reports. The integration monitors issue events and surfaces them alongside daily updates.

Email matching required: Email addresses must match between Dailybot and Linear users for activity to be properly logged. Mismatched emails result in ignored events.

Detailed setup

Step 1: Copy the hook URL

Go to Dailybot Settings → Integrations → Linear and copy your unique webhook URL.

Step 2: Add webhook in Linear

1. Navigate to Linear Settings → API → Webhooks
2. Add a new webhook with the Dailybot URL
3. Select Issues as the event type
4. Create the webhook

Step 3: Add API key

1. In Linear Settings → API → Personal API Keys
2. Create a new personal API key (name it “Dailybot” for clarity)
3. Copy the key and paste it into the Dailybot Linear integration settings

API key vs. signing secret: Do not confuse the Personal API Key with your webhook signing secret. You do not need to copy or use the webhook signing secret.

Activity tracking in reports

1. Open the check-in settings for the check-in you want to enhance
2. Go to Sharing → Advanced Options
3. Enable Activity tracking

Activity logged within 24 hours before a check-in response through the end of that day appears as an automatically added column in reports.
