Naming things is one of the hardest problems in computer science. But when we started DailyBot more than 4 years ago, reaching consensus about the name was pretty much instantaneous. DailyBot came to us naturally, and we pretty much had a winner at that point.
Unfortunately, the domain name dailybot.com was already taken. We have always been convinced that the .com domain extension is the most trusted and memorable one, not to mention the most likely to be assumed when people misremember a URL. We opted for registering the domain using our second best option and grabbed the .CO extension, which was luckily available at the time.
We followed the intellectual property playbook and proceeded to register our trademark along with other similar procedures to guarantee that our brand is protected, but we kept the .COM extension in the back of our minds. Well, dreams come true, and after some negotiations we managed to acquire DAILYBOT.COM from their long time owners and bring it home!
When is the moving happening?
In the following months, we will be slowly transitioning all of our web properties, apps, corporate, marketing and customer e-mails to dailybot.com. No change is needed on your end, even if you have bookmarks pointing to the old domain, those will continue to work for the foreseeable future as we are taking care of all the necessary redirections. Same for e-mail communications, if you see messages from us from either domain, DAILYBOT.CO or DAILYBOT.COM during the transition, please bear with us and proceed with confidence.
We recommend adding @dailybot.com to your trusted senders.
Invoices will also reflect this change, so please make sure to adjust your accounting software and/or procedures if you think this could affect you.
